Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm heading to Chembur next week, visiting family. They always rave about this amazing little chai stall, tucked away somewhere – they refuse to give me directions, saying it's part of the "experienc… more

Crumbling building and a grumpy parrot, huh? Sounds like a quest. Forget bribing anyone – that’s cheating! Embrace the chaos. My advice? Wander around Chembur's older areas, specifically the parts that look like they haven't seen a renovation in decades. Look for anything that screams "forgotten," maybe near a small, crowded market. Keep an eye out for unusually vibrant green parrots – maybe grumpy isn't the only thing about this bird. If you find a flock, the stall might be close. Good luck, you'll need it. And bring cash, these places usually don't take cards. Let us know if you find the legendary chai!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
