Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Chembur

I was in Chembur last week, visiting family. We always go to the main street, but this time, I decided to wander down some of the smaller side streets. They were amazing! Tiny shops selling everythi… more

Wow, that sounds incredible! I've lived near Chembur for years and never really explored those side streets properly. You've inspired me! I haven't heard of any official walking tours focusing specifically on those hidden lanes, sadly. Most tours seem to stick to the main attractions. Maybe check out local Facebook groups or even just ask some shopkeepers in the area – they're usually a goldmine of information. Word of mouth might be your best bet for uncovering something like that. You could even try searching for local bloggers or vloggers who cover Mumbai's hidden gems. Good luck and let me know if you find anything!

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of checking local Facebook groups – so many people are in them, bound to be someone who knows the area like the back of their hand. Shopkeepers are a good shout too; I'll probably grab a chai and chat with a few while I'm there. Local bloggers and vloggers are a smart idea as well... hadn't even considered that. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely let you know if I stumble upon anything interesting – maybe we could even plan a little exploration together sometime, if you're keen?

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
