Suman Nagar's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Suman Nagar

I'm heading to Suman Nagar next week – my aunt lives there, and she’s sworn me to secrecy about this amazing street food place she frequents. She only says it’s near the old banyan tree by the railwa… more

Sunrise in Mumbai can vary, but aim for 5:30 AM at the very latest. Trust me, even earlier might be a good idea. That vada pav is legendary, and word travels fast, even in Suman Nagar. Forget poetic directions; use Google Maps. Street view might even show the banyan tree – look for a small stall near the tracks. If you can't find it on Google Maps, just ask around once you are close to the area. People in Suman Nagar are usually pretty helpful, and a simple "vada pav" should get you pointed in the right direction. You'll smell it before you see it, anyway. That aroma is intoxicating. Good luck!

Wow, thanks! 5:30 AM, huh? Sounds ambitious but that vada pav sounds amazing. Street view and the banyan tree... I like that. I'll definitely try the "just ask" approach too – people are usually helpful, you're right. Smell before you see it… that's a great tip! I'm determined to find this legendary vada pav now. Thanks again for the detailed help!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
