Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, family trip. Heard it's a bit of a maze, even for locals. My aunt, who lives near the Prabhadevi area, keeps saying "oh, Sion East, you'll get lost, it's a… more

Haha, your aunt's not wrong! Sion East can be a bit of a…character. It's less a maze and more a tightly packed collection of really narrow streets. Best bet is to stick to the main roads as much as possible – think the Sion-Trombay Road and the Eastern Express Highway. Use Google Maps religiously; it's your best friend there. Seriously, even locals use it, especially for navigating those smaller lanes. If you're using a ride-hailing app, that also takes the headache out of it. Otherwise, just be prepared for some walking and maybe a few wrong turns. That's part of the charm, I guess. Embrace the unexpected street food encounters! You'll probably find something amazing.

Yeah, that makes sense. My aunt's always been a bit dramatic, but she's lived there for ages, so I figured she knew what she was talking about... mostly. Sounds like I should just plan on getting a bit lost then, haha. Google Maps it is! And hey, unexpected street food sounds amazing. Thanks for the tips!

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
