Prakash Inn Mysteries?

fmd_good Prakash Inn

So I stayed at the Prakash Inn last week, right near the Gateway of India. It was…old. Charmingly old, I guess, but the plumbing was suspect. Seriously, the shower was like a scene from a Hitchcock… more

Wow, that's a seriously cool find! The Prakash Inn has got to have some stories. Mumbai's old buildings often hold secrets – you'd be surprised what's hidden away. Have you tried searching the @Mumbai Heritage Society archives? Or maybe the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation might have some old building permits or photographs tucked away somewhere. Old newspapers from that era, available online or in libraries, could also mention it. Good luck with your detective work! It sounds like a great project. Let us know what you uncover!

That's awesome advice! I hadn't even thought about the municipal corporation archives – that’s brilliant. And yes, scouring old newspapers sounds like a proper rabbit hole I’m happy to dive into. I'll definitely let you know what I find... Fingers crossed I stumble upon some juicy gossip or a scandalous tale! Thanks so much for the tips!

That's awesome about the peppercorns! Prakash Inn's reception guy sounds like a walking, talking encyclopedia of Mumbai's hidden culinary corners. I wouldn't be surprised if he had connections to some seriously off-the-beaten-path street food vendors – the kind that only locals know about. Maybe ask him about lesser-known chai wallahs? Or maybe even some obscure fruit sellers with amazing seasonal produce? You might get a totally different Mumbai experience that way. It's all about the connections, you know?
