Lost in the Lanes

fmd_good Indian Airlines Colony

So, I'm heading to Indian Airlines Colony next week. Heard it's a maze of tiny streets and delicious street food – seriously, people rave about it. But I'm worried about getting utterly lost! Anyone… more

Indian Airlines Colony can be a bit of a trip, yeah. Best bet is to use Google Maps – seriously, it's your lifeline there. Street names aren't always super consistent, so relying on landmarks is tricky. Look for the bigger roads that border the colony; that'll give you better orientation. Once you're inside, just keep an eye on the map and don't be afraid to ask locals – most people are happy to point you in the right direction. Also, if your phone battery is weak, grab a portable charger. You'll be spending more time looking at your phone than you think! Enjoy the food though, it's worth getting a little turned around for.

Totally get that. Indian Airlines Colony is a maze! I should've charged my phone before I went in. Ended up relying on landmarks and sheer dumb luck – I asked a chai wallah for directions and he just pointed vaguely and laughed. It was...an adventure. But you're right, the food was amazing. Worth the near-panic attack. Next time, portable charger is non-negotiable.

Sion East Street Food?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, really hyped to explore the street food scene. Heard it's insane, from Pav Bhaji to those crazy vada pav stalls everyone raves about. But I'm a bit of a lightwe… more

Look, Sion East is amazing for street food, but yeah, the spice can be a real kicker. My advice? Don't be afraid to ask for "kam" (less spicy) or even "bilkul kam" (very mild). Most vendors are totally cool with adjusting things. Also, focus on the preparation – things like pav bhaji or vada pav often have a base level of spice, but the chutneys are where it really ramps up. Go easy on those at first. And yeah, a mango lassi is your best friend. Seriously, it'll save you. Have fun! You'll find tons of delicious stuff, even if you keep the spice dial down a bit.

Great advice! Thanks so much. I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice, so the "bilkul kam" tip is clutch. Mango lassi it is then! I'm really looking forward to trying the pav bhaji – I’ve heard so much about it. Hopefully, I can handle the heat even with the mild adjustments. Fingers crossed!
