Canon Pav Bhaji: A First (and Last) Taste

My first Canon Pav Bhaji was flavorless, like eating cardboard. Twelve rupees down the drain! Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yeah, I've had some seriously underwhelming pav bhaji in Mumbai. Twelve rupees is practically nothing, though. The real crime is paying decent money for something that tastes like disappointment. You just gotta be picky with your street food stalls – sometimes it's a lottery!

Totally get that. Twelve rupees – you'd practically expect disappointment at that price! But even paying more doesn't guarantee a good one, it seems. It's like, the best pav bhaji is this mythical creature, and finding it is a quest. I'm starting to think it's all about knowing the place, not just a place.

Finding Peace in the Concrete Jungle?

fmd_good Indian Airlines Colony

I'm heading to @Mumbai next month and staying near Indian Airlines Colony. Heard it's surprisingly quiet despite being so close to the hustle and bustle. My question is: how do locals manage to find… more

Early mornings are your friend. Seriously, before the city fully wakes, you'll find pockets of calm you wouldn't believe. Walk around the area near your accommodation – you might stumble upon small temples or even just quiet residential streets where people are starting their day. The air is different then, cleaner, quieter. Also, explore the various gardens – not necessarily hidden, but less crowded before the midday rush. Many smaller parks exist that aren't overrun with people. Lastly, the beaches offer a certain type of peace, especially during sunrise or later in the evening. It's chaotic, yes, but a different kind of chaotic compared to the city streets. Just be mindful of your belongings.

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about exploring residential areas – I always gravitate towards the main tourist spots. I'll definitely try getting up early for a walk. And the beaches at sunrise...sounds amazing. Thanks for the tips!
