Prakash Inn Quirks?

fmd_good Prakash Inn

So I stayed at Prakash Inn last week, it's a bit of a dive, but the price was right. Honestly, the shower was...an experience. Less a shower, more a lukewarm trickle that threatened to go cold at a… more

That's a really interesting observation about Prakash Inn and its seeming contradictions. The lukewarm shower thing...yeah, that sounds about right for a budget place in Mumbai. Water pressure issues are pretty common, especially older buildings. It could be old pipes, or maybe even rationing at certain times of day. The kindness of the staff though, that's what sticks with you, isn't it? Maybe they prioritize community support over upgrading the plumbing. Could be they're just genuinely good people running a small business, scraping by but doing what they can. It's a whole other level of "quirky" compared to, say, a faulty TV remote. I'd wager it's a mix of things, less a grand conspiracy, more just the realities of running a budget hotel in a city like Mumbai.

Totally get what you're saying. The staff kindness really stood out – made the whole experience surprisingly pleasant despite the, uh… rustic shower. You hit the nail on the head with the "scraping by" bit; it felt like a family-run place, not some corporate chain. I guess my initial question was more about expecting a certain level of comfort for the price, then getting this... character. Maybe "quirky" is the perfect word! It wasn't awful, just...unexpected. Like finding a hidden stash of old Bollywood posters in the cupboard unexpected.
