If you want something completely different, head to the Shivala area near the main bus stand around 8pm. The neon signs from the small electronics shops and the constant flow of auto-rickshaws create this chaotic, colorful light show that works great for long exposures. Just bring a tripod and don't mind the honking.

For a quieter option, the Deshmesh Regent hotel has a rooftop restaurant with a clear view of the entire city skyline. You can get a decent shot of the clock tower and the surrounding buildings without dealing with street-level crowds. A chai there costs about 80 rupees and they won't bother you if you just sit and shoot for a while.

honestly the best spot that most people miss is the backside of Devi Talab Mandir early morning. the light hits the temple dome and reflects off the water in a way that looks almost fake. u can get some nice shots of the old city rooftops from the gurdwara near Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar too.

if u want something less religious, hit up the canal road near Model Town around sunset. the long shadows on the water and the old bridge make for good compositions. also the narrow lanes near Nakodar Chowk have these faded vintage signboards that look great in black and white. just watch out for traffic while u frame ur shot

The old British-era waterworks near PAP Chownk have this great abandoned industrial feel. The red brick buildings and rusted pipes catch the afternoon light really well, plus there's hardly anyone around on weekdays. If you're into street photography, the morning vegetable market at Model Town Road is chaotic but rewarding, just keep your camera low and ask permission from vendors before shooting close-up.
