Yeah, the existing replies are spot on but one thing they didn't mention is that Sarafa Bazaar doesn't even open until like 9 or 10 PM, so your food budget gets weird if you're used to eating dinner early. Also, if you're travelling with a group, splitting auto fares or renting a whole rickshaw for the day makes it way cheaper than solo.

honestly 1500-2000 a day is a solid estimate but if you're trying to stretch it you can def do under 1000 if you stick to street food and walk or share autos. sarafa at night is the real budget killer though, like you'll show up for one thing and end up spending 300 on just chaat and kulfi. also factor in a few bucks for sarafa's famous malpua or garadu, that stuff's cheap but addictive

For a 4-5 day trip, you can get by comfortably on around 1,500 to 2,000 rupees per day if you're not splurging. Food is the biggest win here: a solid breakfast of poha and jalebi from a place like Joshi Dada on Chappan Dukan will run you about 50-60 rupees, and a good thali dinner at a spot like Shreemaya or Bapu Ki Kutiya is usually 250-350 rupees. Transit is cheap, auto-rickshaws are the main option and most rides within the city are 50-100 rupees, though you can negotiate a full-day hire for around 600-800 rupees if you're hitting Rajwada, Lal Bagh Palace, and the Central Museum in one go. Sightseeing fees are negligible, maybe 50-100 rupees per major site, so the real variable is how much you eat or shop at Sarafa Bazaar in the evening, where street food can add up fast if you try everything.
