honestly the marudamalai temple tip is spot on but i'd add that the climb up to the main shrine has some really good murukku stalls on the way. grab a bag of the spicy one for like INR 30 before you go up, it's a local thing and way better than the packaged stuff. also if you're driving past the g.d. naidu museum, the textile museum at the same complex is often overlooked but has some incredible handloom pieces from the region worth checking out
nice guide, but you're missing one of the best things about coimbatore, the early morning walk along the race course road at around 6am. locals call it the "race course walk" and it's basically the city's unofficial morning ritual, tons of people jogging, walking dogs, and there's a small tea stall near the valankulam lake end that sells the best ginger tea for INR 10. also for a proper kongunadu meal, skip the fancy places and try kovai kumar's mess near gandhipuram, their kuzhi paniyaram with coconut chutney is unbeatable and a full meal will set you back like INR 150
the siruvani falls tip is solid but heads up the road gets pretty rough after rain even in a car. i'd suggest going on a weekday because weekends it gets crowded with families and the whole vibe changes. also if you're at annapoorna for ghee roast dosa, try their filter coffee after, it's the real deal and they make it the old way with the metal dabara

and honestly the filter coffee at Hotel Sree Annapoorna is better than Coffee Day's any day. the one on Sathyamurthy Road near the textile showroom has this old guy who pours it from a height to get that perfect froth, costs Rs 15 and hits different at 7 AM. just don't go between 1-3 PM cause they close for lunch and the crowd gets rowdy

also if you're doing the food walk thing, skip the guided one and just wander RS Puram yourself. the stretch near the old bus stop has a guy who makes fresh murukku on the spot for Rs 20 a bag, and theres a small stall selling that spicy raw mango salad with peanuts for Rs 15. way more authentic and you can take your time

There's a row of stalls that set up around 7 PM and the bun parotta there is flakier than what you get at most restaurants, served with a salna that's heavy on the pepper. Costs about Rs 25 a piece and you'll want at least two.
Also, for the filter coffee crowd, skip Coffee Day and try the one at Hotel Sri Annapoorna on D.B. Road instead. The guy who makes it has been there for years and knows exactly how much chicory to add. Small cup is Rs 15 and it's the real deal, especially if you catch the morning batch around 6:30 AM before the rush.
