Photo spots in Bhavnagar?

Heading to Bhavnagar in about 3 months, and I'm hoping to get some good shots. Any favorite photo spots around town or nearby? Heading to Bhavnagar in about 3 months, and I'm hoping to get some good shots. Any favorite photo spots around town or nearby?

If you're up for a bit of a drive, the Blackbuck National Park at Velavadar is a solid choice, especially in the late afternoon. The grassland light is soft and golden, and you can catch herds of blackbucks leaping across the horizon, it's a different vibe from the city shots. Just check the entry timings beforehand, they close the gates by sunset.

Closer to town, the old cremation ghats near the water at the end of Kalanala road have a quiet, gritty character that's worth exploring. The steps and the boats tied up there catch the harsh midday sun in a way that makes for stark, high-contrast frames. I've gotten some of my favorite shots there just waiting for a fisherman to row past.

honestly the Victoria Park lake is super underrated for photos, especially early morning when the mist is still on the water and the old bridge reflects nicely. also if you wander towards the barton library area, the colonial buildings have this faded charm that looks great in black and white.

The old city near Ghogha Circle is a gem if you're into street photography. The narrow lanes around Darbargadh have these crumbling havelis with intricate woodwork and facades that catch the morning light really well. Just be respectful of the locals, they're used to cameras but a smile goes a long way.

For a wider landscape shot, head to the Gopnath beach around sunset. It's about an hour's drive, but the cliffs there give you a dramatic view of the Gulf of Khambhat, and the light turns everything a warm orange. Also, the Takhteshwar Temple on the hill offers a clean, elevated panorama of the whole city, especially right after the rains when the air is clear.
