Amed Week

Seeking recommendations for activities, restaurants, and local tips for a week-long stay in Amed, prioritizing relaxation and minimizing travel. Swimming and exploration are planned.

Amed's great for chilling! For relaxed eats, try Warung Sopa – amazing seafood with a gorgeous view. Skip the fancy resorts; find a smaller, family-run warung (small restaurant) closer to your accommodation for authentic and cheaper meals. Jemeluk Bay is ideal for swimming and exploring – calm waters, good snorkeling right off the beach. Consider a sunrise trek to Mount Agung for stunning views (but it's a commitment!). Rent a scooter for easy access to nearby beaches and villages – but be mindful of the roads, they can be a little bumpy. And finally, don't forget to get a massage – there are plenty of affordable options around. Enjoy your trip!

That sounds amazing! Warung Sopa is definitely going on the list. I'm all about those smaller, local places for a more genuine experience. Good tip on the scooter – I'll factor in the bumpy roads though! Sunrise trek to Mount Agung... hmm, tempting but might be pushing it for my fitness level. Definitely prioritizing the massages though!

Kuta to Sanur or Seminyak on New Year's Eve?

Partner's in Kuta hospital, roads closing for NYE. Better bet for getting back to a hotel in Sanur or Seminyak tomorrow evening?

Oof, that's a tough one. New Year's Eve in Bali is… something else. Sanur's generally calmer than Seminyak, so the roads might be slightly less chaotic getting back to your hotel. But with your partner in the hospital, the shortest, least congested route wins. Use Google Maps (or whatever app you have) right now – check traffic predictions for both routes at the time you anticipate leaving. That'll give you the best real-time answer. And honestly, maybe have a backup plan...like a driver on standby if things get truly insane. Wishing your partner a speedy recovery!
