honestly just get a prepaid taxi from the airport counter, it's like 600-700 rupees to most hotels in the city center. Uber and Ola are hit or miss at Agra airport tbh, sometimes they show up sometimes they don't

solid guide, one thing i'd add is that the timing for the taj can be tricky in summer 2026 - if you're going between april and june the sunrise is already scorching by 7am, so honestly 6am is still hot. i went in may and was sweating through my shirt by 8am. better to go in winter months if you can, nov-feb the morning light is perfect and you can actually breathe
also the petha from panchi is good but the real deal is at ram bharose on the old agra road, they've been making it since the 1940s and the plain one is like 200 inr a kilo, less sugary than the tourist stuff. just ask for the "kacha" version, it's softer and not coated in that weird silver foil

One thing I'd add for your day 1 itinerary is that the walk from the Taj to Agra Fort isn't really a straight shot anymore. The road between them is under construction for the new footbridge project, so it's a dusty 20 minute detour through the back lanes. Just take the metro from Taj East Gate station to Agra Fort station, it's two stops and 30 rupees, you'll skip all that mess.
Also for your evening on day 2, if you're at Mehtab Bagh for sunset and want dinner nearby, walk over to the little dhaba row on the river road just north of the garden. There's a place called Raju's that does a mean dal fry and tandoori roti for maybe 250 rupees total. It's nothing fancy, plastic chairs and a view of the buffaloes, but the food is better than half the restaurants in the city and you can watch the Taj light up across the river while you eat.
