Yeah, creepy is right. It wasn't super spooky, more like... unsettlingly weird. Like, someone tried to make it spooky, but failed miserably. The symbols were the weirdest part – I’ve got pics, I'll upload them later. I'm thinking bored kids too, but the way they were carved... it felt deliberate, you know? Not just random scratching. Thanks for the tip about local history societies, that's a great idea. I'll definitely look into that and those online forums. The older residents thing is smart too, maybe they've heard some local legends. Fingers crossed someone has a clue!
