Quarry Bay's Hidden History?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, been hearing whispers about old smuggling tunnels under the area. Apparently, they're completely sealed off now, but some locals say you can *still* hear ech… more

Nah, never heard of smuggling tunnels specifically in Quarry Bay, but Hong Kong's history is riddled with that kind of stuff. The whole island was basically built on shady dealings back in the day. Triads, opium, you name it. I'd bet those whispers are just part of the general spooky atmosphere—old buildings, narrow streets...you get the idea. If you're really into that sort of thing, maybe look into the history of the area itself. There's probably tons of old government records and newspaper archives detailing Quarry Bay's development—might turn up something interesting there, maybe even some forgotten stories that fueled those rumors. Good luck! Let us know if you find anything...creepy or not.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
