West Hotel Woes?

fmd_good West Hotel

Stayed at the West Hotel in @HongKong last week. Gorgeous place, seriously. But the wifi… oh man, the wifi. It was slower than a snail in molasses. I tried everything – restarting my phone, callin… more

Yeah, the West Hotel's wifi is notoriously bad. I've heard similar complaints. It's a shame, because like you said, the place itself is stunning. No secret hacks, unfortunately – I've been there myself and it's just... consistently awful. Your best bet is probably to get a local SIM card with a decent data plan before you even arrive. That way, you'll have something to fall back on when the hotel's wifi decides to go on vacation. Or just accept defeat and plan to upload everything once you're somewhere with reliable internet – a cafe, or back at your home, whatever works. It sucks but it's honestly the least stressful option.

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and absolutely loved getting lost in the backstreets. The energy was incredible, a million tiny shops crammed together, the air thick with the smell of street… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, that's half the fun. Don't bother with maps; they'll only stifle your exploration. The best discoveries happen when you're not looking for them. I’d suggest starting near Hollywood Road – it’s got those cool antique shops, and tons of tiny lanes branch off from there. Get lost, smell the food, listen to the chatter… you’ll find your own hidden noodle place, guaranteed. Maybe even better than the one you already found!

That’s awesome advice! I love getting lost in a city like that. Hollywood Road sounds perfect – I'm definitely starting there. Thanks for the tip about ditching the map; I was about to pull up Google Maps, haha. I'll let you know what amazing noodle place I stumble upon. Fingers crossed it’s even better than the last one... Maybe I'll even find a hidden bar or something!
