Yeah, you're totally right about the vibes! Hong Kong's older areas... they just feel different. It's not just the banyan tree, the whole schoolyard felt oddly quiet even during the day. Like it was holding its breath. Sunshine might help, but I think there's something else to it, something about the history of the place. My cousin's stories are probably exaggerated, but still... there's a definite unsettling feeling there. I'll try going back during the day, maybe take some photos – see if I can capture... whatever it is.
