Ma On Shan Mystery

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, stunning views, seriously. Reached the top, felt like I was on another planet. Saw this weird, almost perfectly circular rock formation near the summit… more

Sounds wild! Ma On Shan's got some seriously quirky geology. Could be a naturally occurring geological formation, something formed by erosion over millennia. Or… maybe it's a really old, really well-hidden, really bizarre water tank. Seriously though, a picture would help. Even a blurry one. I’ve hiked there tons of times and never seen anything like that. Maybe it's just a really specific angle thing. Let's see that photo!

You're right, a picture would be worth a thousand words! It's so weird, I can't even describe it properly. It looks… unnatural. Like something's been… placed there. Not just eroded or grown naturally. I'll try to get a decent photo tomorrow, hopefully the light will be better. The angle is definitely important, it was only visible from one very specific spot. The water tank idea is interesting though… never even considered that.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
