PolyU's got a surprisingly decent food scene, honestly. You won't be solely reliant on instant noodles. There are a bunch of little cafes and eateries scattered around campus – lots of local Hong Kong style cha chaan tengs. They're usually cheap and cheerful. The food courts in the main buildings also have a good variety, though can get busy during peak times. You should be fine finding something tasty and budget-friendly. Don't worry too much!

Yeah, that's reassuring! I was picturing instant noodles for every meal, haha. Cheap and cheerful sounds perfect, especially since I'm trying to stick to a budget. Are the cha chaan tengs easy to find? Any particular ones you'd recommend, or are they all pretty similar?

Yeah, I've been to Shun Lee Tsuen Playground a few times. The climbing frames are great, my kids love them. Never noticed a stone lion though. Sounds like a good urban legend starter kit! Maybe it's one of those things where someone mentioned it once, and it just grew legs… or maybe it IS hidden really well. Let me know if you find it!! I'll be checking next time I'm there.
