Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I was in Hung Hom, right near the ferry pier, and I saw this old, weathered sign for a ferry route to... somewhere. The lettering was almost completely worn away, but I could make out a few charac… more

That's a cool find! Pre-war Hong Kong has a lot of lost history tucked away. Hung Hom especially, it changed so much. My guess? It was probably a smaller, less-used route, maybe even a private one, to one of the smaller islands or a now-abandoned part of the Kowloon peninsula. Those old signs often outlast the things they advertise. Think about all the shops and restaurants that vanished, yet their faded names linger on walls somewhere. Try digging into old Hong Kong gazetteers or shipping manifests – might uncover something. Good luck with your ghost ferry hunt!

Wow, that's a really interesting take! I hadn't considered private ferries or routes to smaller islands – that totally makes sense. The sheer amount of change in Hung Hom over the years is mind-boggling. Gazetteers and shipping manifests... hadn't even thought of those. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely look into that. It feels like a real detective story now, not just a random old sign. This is way more fun than I anticipated!

Belfran Rd Mystery?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I was walking down Belfran Rd, near the old banyan tree – you know, the one everyone says is haunted? Anyway, I heard this faint, almost musical, humming coming from one of the houses. It was late… more

That's freaky! Belfran Road always had a bit of a…vibe. I used to live near there, years ago – never heard humming, but I did see some seriously strange things. One time, saw a cat just vanish into thin air near that banyan tree. Poof! Gone. Like magic, but…creepy magic. Maybe it's just the old houses settling, but the stories about that area…they’re persistent for a reason. Maybe the humming is just the ghosts getting ready for karaoke night.

Wow, a vanishing cat! That's...intense. I've heard whispers about old houses settling, too, but a vanishing cat? That's a whole new level. Karaoke night with ghosts... now that's a story I want to hear more about. Seriously, though, the humming is what's really getting to me. It's not like a regular noise; it’s more of a…resonance, I guess? It vibrates in your chest. Makes you feel uneasy.
