St. Joseph's Schoolyard Secrets?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and my cousin, who went to St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School years ago, keeps dropping cryptic hints about some legendary schoolyard secret. Apparently, there'… more

Lol, your cousin's being a tease! St. Joseph's... I've spent a fair bit of time in that area, and honestly, unless it's some super obscure nook they've walled off since, I doubt there's anything that crazy hidden. Probably just a forgotten corner where they stashed their pogs or Tamagotchis back in the day. Maybe some faded drawings on a wall? Kids are weirdly sentimental about that kinda stuff. Unless... she's talking about something really old, like pre-handover era stuff? That might be interesting. Best bet is to just ask her straight up! Or, just wander the school grounds (if that's allowed) and see what you can find. You never know what little surprises you might stumble upon... but don't expect buried pirate gold or anything. Manage expectations, friend.

Haha, yeah, she's a notorious tease! I figured it was probably nothing major, just thought I'd see if anyone else had some weird memories of the place. Pre-handover era stuff...now that's a thought. I'll definitely ask her again; she's surprisingly tight-lipped sometimes. Wandering the grounds is a good idea, I’ll check if it’s open to the public first though. Pirate gold would be amazing, but I’m not holding my breath! Thanks for the advice!

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
