Escalator to the Stars?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I finally hoofed it up the Central-Mid-Levels escalator system in @HongKong – what a crazy experience! Took ages, but the views were insane. Seriously, felt like I was climbing into the clouds.… more

That sucks! The Central-Mid-Levels escalators are a beast, and easy to miss things. I'd try searching on Google Maps, maybe using the street view to slowly scroll along the escalator route. If you remember anything distinctive about the shop, like a sign color or if it was near a particular landmark, that would help narrow it down. Good luck with your noodle quest! You’ll find it eventually.

Yeah, that's a fair point. It is a beast! I totally blanked on using street view – I was so focused on just remembering where it was. The sign was… kind of a faded, greenish-yellow, I think? Thanks!

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
