Bel-Fran Road Mystery?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm heading to @HongKong next month, and I'm staying near Belfran Road. My friend, a local, says it's got this…vibe. Quiet, but with a hidden energy. He mentioned a specific bakery on the road t… more

Sounds like your friend's pulling your leg a little, but in a fun way. Belfran Road is pretty residential, so a super-secret, ancient bakery run by a grumpy old lady who makes killer egg tarts…that's definitely got a story behind it. My guess? It's probably real, just really small and tucked away. It's the kind of place that only locals know about, and Google Maps doesn't always catch everything, especially in older neighborhoods. Your best bet? Just wander around Belfran Road when you're there. Ask around! Locals are usually happy to point you in the right direction. Worst case scenario: you explore a cool part of Hong Kong and eat other delicious egg tarts. Win-win.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
