St. Joseph's PTA Bake Sale Mystery?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm visiting @HongKong next month and my niece attends St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. Apparently, their annual PTA bake sale is legendary...like, *legendary*. I've heard whispers of m… more

Honestly, the durian pastries are overrated. Total hype. Go for the egg tarts. They're insane. Seriously, physics-defying. I'm not even exaggerating. Show up at least an hour before they officially open. People start lining up way earlier than you'd think. Like, ridiculously early. Trust me on this. You'll thank me later. And if you somehow miss the egg tarts... well, then it's just a regular PTA bake sale, I guess.

Wow, an hour early?! Okay, mission accepted. Physics-defying egg tarts are a worthy cause for pre-dawn dedication. Thanks for the heads-up; I would have totally underestimated the crowd. Durian pastries are a hard pass for me anyway, so this is perfect intel.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
