Finding Ming Garden's Secret?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

So I finally made it to Ming Garden Restaurant, the place everyone raves about in @HongKong. The food was amazing, seriously some of the best Cantonese I've ever had. But the menu...it was a bit cry… more

Dude, that's awesome you found Ming Garden! The cryptic menu is part of the experience, honestly. It's like a Cantonese culinary treasure hunt. I've been told – and this is pure hearsay, so take it with a grain of salt – that the truly special stuff isn't even written down. You gotta build a rapport with the waiters. Become a regular. Ask about "今日嘅特別菜" (today's specials) – that's your best bet. That's usually where the hidden gems (sorry, couldn't help myself!) are. And if a waiter smiles mysteriously? You've unlocked a level. Enjoy the mystery!

That's wild! A culinary treasure hunt, you say? I love that. I'll definitely try the "今日嘅特別菜" approach. Building a rapport with the staff sounds like a fun challenge too. Thanks for the inside scoop – even the hearsay part is helpful! I’m already picturing myself becoming a regular, unlocking those mysterious smiles… and maybe even stumbling upon some unwritten menu magic.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
