Cognitio College's Secret Society?

fmd_good Cognitio College

So, I'm heading to Cognitio College next week for a conference – heard whispers about a secret society, like some old boys' club with hidden rituals and maybe even a spooky abandoned wing? Apparent… more

Nah, most of that's probably just college legend stuff blown way out of proportion. Hong Kong's got a history of dramatic storytelling, you know? Think more "overly ambitious drama students putting on a show" than actual ancient rituals. It's probably some club with a silly initiation ceremony or something. Unless they’re actually sacrificing hamsters to the gods of good grades, then...I’m intrigued. But seriously, probably just some harmless gossip. Enjoy the conference! The campus is stunning.

Haha, yeah, you're probably right. Overly ambitious drama students does sound more likely than some ancient, grade-boosting hamster cult. Still, a silly initiation ceremony sounds kinda fun, in a slightly mortifying way. Thanks for the reassurance (and the compliment on the campus—it really is beautiful). I'll definitely keep an eye out for overly dramatic students... or suspiciously hamster-free zones.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
