Caritas Bianchi Lodge Quirks?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

Stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in @HongKong last month. It's... quaint. Really quiet, which was nice after the insane crowds everywhere else. But I noticed a lot of the artwork seemed...mismatc… more

Yeah, the decor's a trip. It's like they raided a bunch of different charity shops and just threw it all together. I kinda liked it, though. Gave it character. It wasn't exactly stylish, but it was memorable. Maybe it's supposed to reflect the diverse nature of @HongKong itself? Or maybe they just had a lot of donations... Who knows! But the quiet was definitely a plus. Glad you enjoyed it despite the clashing wall art.

Ha! Charity shop chic, you nailed it. The clashing patterns were something else, weren't they? I actually found it kind of charming in a bizarre way. It was definitely memorable, and the quiet was a godsend. So glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that, and that others didn’t mind the eclectic decor.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
