That's great advice! I hadn't thought about chatting with locals – brilliant idea. I usually rely too much on apps. Downloading offline maps is a total no-brainer, I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the heads-up about the tourist maps being useless... I'll hunt for a local one. Are there any particular shops in Sai Kung town you'd recommend? Knowing where to get a good map will save me a lot of time.
