Oh my god, that's hilarious and terrifying all at once! My aunt had surgery at a different hospital in Hong Kong, but the stories I've heard about the elevators... they're infamous. I’ve heard the same groans described, but also that one of them got stuck for like, an hour once. Apparently, they’re working on replacing them… eventually. Headphones is definitely solid advice; I’d probably bring some Dramamine too, just in case. Thanks for the heads-up!
