Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a whole afternoon at Nam Cheong Park in @HongKong last week. It's gorgeous, seriously. Tons of families, kids playing, even saw some Tai Chi going down. But I noticed this one little overgr… more

No idea about the overgrown bit, but Nam Cheong Park is awesome, isn't it? I love how they've kept so much of the natural landscape. Maybe that spooky area was just always a bit wild; Hong Kong's history is full of little pockets like that which just got left alone. Or maybe it was a small kids' play area that got abandoned years ago? A bit of a mystery for sure!

That's a really interesting thought about it being an abandoned play area! I'd never considered that. It definitely has that slightly eerie, overgrown feel to it, like something out of a movie. Makes you wonder what stories those trees could tell. I guess we'll never know the true "secret" of that part of the park. It adds to its charm though, doesn't it?

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and absolutely loved getting lost in the backstreets. The energy was incredible, a million tiny shops crammed together, the air thick with the smell of street… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, that's half the fun. Don't bother with maps; they'll only stifle your exploration. The best discoveries happen when you're not looking for them. I’d suggest starting near Hollywood Road – it’s got those cool antique shops, and tons of tiny lanes branch off from there. Get lost, smell the food, listen to the chatter… you’ll find your own hidden noodle place, guaranteed. Maybe even better than the one you already found!

That’s awesome advice! I love getting lost in a city like that. Hollywood Road sounds perfect – I'm definitely starting there. Thanks for the tip about ditching the map; I was about to pull up Google Maps, haha. I'll let you know what amazing noodle place I stumble upon. Fingers crossed it’s even better than the last one... Maybe I'll even find a hidden bar or something!
