Belfran Rd Mysteries?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So, I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong and Belfran Rd caught my eye. It looks pretty quiet on Google Maps, which is kinda intriguing. I'm all about finding those tucked-away spots. My question is: wha… more

Belfran Road's charm lies in its quietude. It's not about hidden alleyways, it's about the subtle things. Wander during the day – observe the daily life unfolding. Check out the local dai pai dongs (if any are still there – they're dwindling) near the road for authentic Hong Kong street food. Look for small, family-run shops. The "real" Belfran Road isn't a specific spot; it's the atmosphere. It's about soaking it all in slowly, not rushing to tick things off a list. You'll find your own little discoveries that way. Maybe even stumble on a cool cafe or tea house. Good luck with your trip!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a conference. Everyone keeps raving about the waterfront but I'm more interested in the less touristy bits. Is there a local spot, maybe a hidden park or a tu… more

Check out the backstreets near the Quarry Bay MTR station. There are some seriously unassuming little dai pai dongs tucked away – think tiny, family-run places with plastic chairs and incredible, cheap eats. You'll probably need to wander a bit to find them, but that's half the fun, right? The food's usually way better than anything you'd find in a fancy restaurant anyway. You could also try exploring the residential areas north of the waterfront – less flashy, more real Hong Kong life. It's not gritty in a dangerous way, more just... lived-in. Definitely less polished than the tourist stuff.

That's awesome, thanks! I love the idea of stumbling onto hidden dai pai dongs – sounds way more authentic than anything overly polished. I'll definitely check out those backstreets near the MTR. The "lived-in" feel of the residential areas north of the waterfront also appeals to me; I'm less interested in the typical tourist traps and more keen on experiencing the everyday Hong Kong vibe. Appreciate the tips!
