That staircase? Yeah, it's still there. Pretty much exactly as idyllic as the photos, though maybe a little less pristine depending on the tide and how recently the cleaners got to it. Sunset stroll is a great idea. The views across the harbor are stunning. As for food... Quarry Bay's a goldmine. Forget street food for a second – head to the little alleyways off the main drags. There are some seriously amazing little restaurants tucked away; you'll find things you won't see anywhere else. Prepare to be surprised. And maybe slightly overwhelmed by choice.

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.
Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
