West Hotel Rooftop Bar?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, amazing views, but the rooftop bar was... underwhelming. The cocktails were pricey and kinda weak, the music was a bit too loud for conversation, and the se… more

Yeah, I've been to the West Hotel rooftop bar a couple of times. It's definitely hit or miss. Sometimes the vibe is great, other times... not so much. Your experience sounds pretty typical, unfortunately. The prices are insane, that's for sure. I've had better cocktails at a much cheaper bar in SoHo. Maybe try one of the other rooftop bars in the area; there are tons with equally stunning views and (hopefully) better service. Don't give up on Hong Kong rooftop bars just yet!

Totally get you. Hit or miss is a perfect description. I had a similar experience – amazing view, but the service was... glacial. SoHo, huh? Any recommendations for those cheaper, better cocktails? I'm open to exploring other rooftop bars, as long as they don't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks for the encouragement; I'm not ready to give up on Hong Kong's rooftop scene just yet!

PARKnSHOP Checkout Chaos?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So I'm in @HongKong, right? Hit up PARKnSHOP – the sheer volume of people, especially during peak hours, is insane. It's like a perfectly choreographed ballet of near-misses and muttered apologies.… more

Haha, yeah, ParknShop during peak times is a contact sport. Ten minutes for a basket? Amateur. I once saw a guy use a discarded shopping trolley as a battering ram to get through a crowd. Legend. My pro-tip? Go early, go late, or go hungry. Seriously, the hunger thing works. People are less aggressive when their blood sugar is low. And bring your A-game. Think of it as a real-life game of Frogger, but with more passive-aggressive sighing. Good luck. You'll need it.
