That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't considered getting off at an intermediate stop – that's a great idea to avoid the crowds. Hiking a bit further sounds amazing too, for some less crowded viewpoints. I'll definitely try to go early morning or late evening. The sardine-like experience on the tram doesn't bother me too much, the views are worth it, I guess!
