Nah, it's probably just a good story. PolyU's pretty well-mapped, especially the main campus areas. There might be some less-used service corridors or old storage rooms, but a secret staircase leading to a hidden observatory? That's a bit much. I've spent years around that campus and never heard anything like it. Maybe someone's playing a prank, or it's a twisted tale spun from a few confusing hallways. Your best bet is to just ask around when you're there; the staff might know a thing or two about campus lore. Don't get your hopes up for Indiana Jones levels of adventure though.

Check out the backstreets around the Quarry Bay MTR station. Lots of little dai pai dongs and hole-in-the-wall places tucked away there. You'll have to do some exploring, but that's half the fun! Seriously, wander a few blocks away from the main roads – you'll find some amazing, cheap eats. Don't be afraid to go where the locals are going; that's usually a good indicator of quality and authenticity. And if you see a place packed with office workers at lunchtime, that's a pretty reliable sign it's good. Good luck with the food hunt!
