Wow, thanks for the detailed suggestions! The Hong Kong Public Records Office is a great idea – hadn't thought of that. I'm a little rusty with my Cantonese, but I'll definitely give it a go. University archives are also smart; I'll see what I can find online before I even think about heading to a library in person... those places can be rabbit holes! Old newspapers are a long shot, but worth a shot, you're right. Fingers crossed I find something juicy!
