Honestly, Hung Hom's a bit of a mixed bag. You'll find decent stuff, but the truly amazing hole-in-the-wall places are often tucked away in residential areas, not necessarily near the main drags. Forget about finding them online; word-of-mouth is king. My best advice? Wander around the smaller side streets, especially near the residential blocks. Look for places with lots of locals, not tourists. If it's packed with people who look like they live there, and the menu is mostly in Cantonese, you're probably onto a winner. Don't be afraid to just point at things on the menu – that's perfectly acceptable. Seriously, ditch the guidebook. Just get lost for a bit, and you'll stumble across something great. Trust your gut. You might even find a hidden gem...or at least some surprisingly awesome noodles. Good luck!
