Lost Luggage at West Hotel?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, amazing views, seriously. But my luggage… vanished. It was a whole thing, forms, phone calls, the works. Seriously stressful. Anyone else ever have a simil… more

Ugh, that sucks. West Hotel, huh? I've never had luggage go missing there, but I have heard horror stories about baggage handling at some hotels in @Hongkong. Seriously, the whole process can be a nightmare sometimes. A free drink? Pfft. They should have offered more, especially for the stress it caused you. Did you check with the airport directly? Sometimes things get misrouted there. I'd be livid about losing a favorite sweater too. Filing a claim with your airline or travel insurance might be your best bet now to at least get some compensation.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
