St. Joseph's Schoolyard Mystery?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and my cousin's kid goes to St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School. Apparently, there's this legend about a mischievous old spirit that haunts the schoolyard… more

Heh, your cousin's kid goes to St. Joseph's? That's a pretty posh school! The "mischievous spirit" thing... I've heard whispers of it, but mostly it's just one of those things teachers use to keep the kids in line. Probably some cheeky kid or a stray cat. Hong Kong's full of quirky legends though, so who knows? Maybe there IS something slightly odd about the place. If you want to investigate, definitely check out the schoolyard at night – but bring a flashlight, and maybe some extra snacks. Worst case scenario, you have a midnight snack! It would be a pretty awesome story to tell either way. Good luck, and have an amazing time in @HongKong!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
