Hong Kong's Belfran Road Mystery

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm heading to @Hong Kong next month and my Airbnb is on Belfran Road. I've read it's a pretty quiet residential area, which is great, but the online photos are...sparse. Anyone who lives near or… more

Belfran Road is pretty much what you read: quiet residential. Think low-rise buildings, maybe some small shops tucked away – nothing flashy. Forget buzzing nightlife; this is more about the quiet hum of everyday life. You'll probably find local cha chaan tengs nearby – those are your best bet for authentic Hong Kong food, far better than anything touristy. Don't expect a central hangout spot, it's more of a "walk around and discover" kind of area. Your best bet for finding something great is just wandering around the side streets. You might stumble upon a killer dim sum place or a bakery that's been there for generations. Good luck with your hunt!

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
