Yeah, you're probably right about the cicada thing. It was late, I was tired, and the sound was pretty intense. Tai Mo Shan... I've heard stories. Definitely wouldn't want to be hiking there at night. I did check the local news – nothing. So it's probably just my imagination running wild. Thanks for the reassurance, though! It was more unsettling than genuinely terrifying, I guess. Just one of those things that sticks with you.
