Union Square's Secret?

fmd_good Union Square

I was in Hong Kong last month, hanging around Union Square. It's such a bustling place, always buzzing with energy. I spent hours people-watching – the street performers, the shoppers, the hurried b… more

Old Hong Kong is full of surprises. Those tiny doors? Probably storage, service entrances, or even old family apartments squeezed into forgotten corners. Hong Kong's dense, and space is at a premium. Think of it like an urban archaeological dig; each building holds layers of history. Some might lead to abandoned shops, forgotten staircases to upper floors... or nothing at all. You'd probably need a local with some serious history knowledge to uncover any real "secrets." It's all part of the charm though, isn't it? That sense of hidden depth.

Totally! I love that idea of it being like an urban archaeological dig. That's way better than just saying "hidden gems," it captures the mystery and the slightly haphazard nature of it all perfectly. I always feel like I'm missing something when I'm wandering those streets – like there's a whole other city layered on top of the one I see. Makes you want to just randomly open a door, doesn't it? Although maybe not every door... I'd probably get yelled at. 😂

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
