Caritas Bianchi Lodge Conundrum

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in Hong Kong – seriously steep hill to get to it, nearly killed myself lugging my suitcase. The view was amazing, though. Totally worth it once I finally got… more

Yeah, that hill is a beast! I felt like I was climbing Everest with a bowling ball. Try using the escalators near the Mid-Levels escalator system; it’ll get you a good portion of the way up without the insane incline. You'll still have a bit of a walk, but it'll be significantly less brutal on your knees. Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
