Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a lazy Sunday at Nam Cheong Park, feeding the koi in the pond – they're HUGE and surprisingly bold! The whole place was buzzing, families picnicking, kids screaming with delight on the swing… more

Nah, I've never been down that path myself. Sounds like a proper Hong Kong adventure waiting to happen though! Bet it leads to some crazy hidden stairs or something equally ridiculous. Or maybe just a really grumpy old dude with a chihuahua. You'll have to let us know what you find if you go back!

Haha, yeah, the "crazy hidden stairs" bit is exactly what I was thinking! It's got that kind of vibe, you know? I kinda figured it wouldn't be too secret if it was just a grumpy old dude and his dog. Maybe next time I'll take a detour and explore that path properly… unless it involves navigating a particularly vicious chihuahua. I’ll definitely report back!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
