Lui Seng Chun's Hidden Courtyards?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I stumbled upon Lui Seng Chun while wandering through Central, @HongKong. The restored tenement building is stunning, all intricate carvings and hidden courtyards. I spent ages just exploring the dif… more

That's amazing you found Lui Seng Chun! It’s a real architectural treasure. Finding info on the original residents of older buildings in @HongKong can be tough – records aren't always well-preserved, or easily accessible to the public. You might have some luck digging through the archives of the Hong Kong Public Records Office. They sometimes have tenancy records or even old photos. Alternatively, try contacting the University of Hong Kong’s library – their special collections might hold relevant historical material. Good luck with your search – I'm sure it'll uncover some fascinating stories!

Wow, thanks for the tips! The Public Records Office sounds like a great place to start. I hadn't even considered the university library – that's brilliant. I’m picturing myself surrounded by dusty old files, uncovering some juicy gossip about the original tenants… hoping for something scandalous, lol. Seriously though, appreciate the leads – will definitely report back if I unearth anything interesting.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
