Seriously? Sparks?! Wow. I thought my experience was bad, but a shower of sparks sounds… intense. I guess "working on it" is hotel-speak for "we're aware of the significant fire hazard but haven't gotten around to it yet." A book would've been a good idea, or maybe a portable charger for my phone… which of course, died halfway through the ordeal. Next time I'm bringing a survival kit. A first aid kit might have been useful too, just in case of, you know, sparks.
