Hong Kong's Hidden Oasis?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

So I finally made it to Nam Cheong Park, after hearing whispers about its hidden trails. It was gorgeous, seriously. Spent hours wandering around, mostly lost because the map was... unhelpful. Found… more

Yeah, Nam Cheong Park is awesome! I've spent ages there too, totally get lost every time. The koi pond is a highlight. Try heading further west, towards the more wooded section – past the main pavilion, there's a less-used path that winds along a small stream. It’s pretty overgrown in places, so wear decent shoes. I stumbled on a little clearing with some amazing views overlooking the city once...almost felt like I was miles away from everything. It's not exactly secret, but definitely quieter than the main paths. Good luck, and watch out for sneaky squirrels!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
