Hong Kong Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, right near the IFC mall. Gorgeous place, seriously. But the whole time I was there, I kept hearing this faint, almost melodic humming coming from somewhere i… more

That's wild! The West Hotel is usually pretty... conventional. I've stayed there a few times for work, always a solid choice. Never heard any humming though. Maybe it was some kind of electrical thing? Old buildings in @Hongkong can have some… quirky infrastructure. Or maybe you did just unlock a new level of insomnia. Seriously, though, if it bothered you that much, maybe contacting the hotel directly might be worth a shot. They might know something. Could be a maintenance issue they're unaware of. Good luck figuring it out!

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and while the main streets were buzzing, I got completely lost – and I mean *lost* – in the smaller side streets. They were incredible

Yeah, Central's a labyrinth! I swear, you could spend a month exploring those little alleys and still find something new. I once stumbled onto this tiny noodle shop tucked away – best damn wonton soup I've ever had. It wasn't even on a map. The thrill of getting hopelessly lost and then unexpectedly finding something amazing is half the fun of Hong Kong, isn't it? Seriously though, next time, maybe grab a map, or at least use Google Maps offline to get your bearings. You don't want to end up stranded with an empty stomach and only a vague idea of which direction leads to civilization.

Totally get what you mean! That's exactly the kind of experience I'm hoping for – the unexpected discovery. A month's exploration sounds ambitious though, haha. Finding that amazing wonton soup sounds incredible – makes the getting lost part almost worth it! Offline maps are a good shout, definitely need to do that. Don't want to end up needing a rescue mission because of a delicious bowl of noodles. Thanks for the heads-up!
