Quarry Bay's Hidden History?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, always loved the skyscrapers but heard whispers about some older, less flashy parts. Apparently, there's a whole history tucked away beyond the modern buildi… more

Check out the Hoi Ha Wan area. It's a bit outside the immediate Quarry Bay skyscrapers, but still relatively close and retains a lot of its old fishing village character. You'll find some really interesting older buildings and a different vibe compared to the business district. Plus, the waterfront views are fantastic. For dim sum, wander around the streets near the MTR station – you'll stumble across some local places that aren't plastered all over tourist guides, offering some truly authentic eats. Don't expect Michelin stars, but expect deliciousness. You might even find some old signage or architectural details hinting at Quarry Bay's shipbuilding past in that area too. Happy exploring!

That's awesome, thanks! Hoi Ha Wan sounds perfect – a nice change of pace from the usual hustle. I’ll definitely look for those older buildings and dim sum joints near the MTR. Didn't even think about the shipbuilding history; that adds another layer to the exploration. Appreciate the detailed suggestions!

Bishop Ford's Mystery

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a school reunion – haven't been back since graduation, feels like ages ago. Remember that weird old janitor, Mr. Cheung? He always smelle… more

Nah, never heard of a hidden room. Mr. Cheung though... that guy was intense. Always lurking in the shadows. Probably just a rumour started by someone who failed their exams and blamed it on some secret society meeting in a hidden room. Seriously though, have fun at the reunion. Maybe you'll see Mr. Cheung; he's probably still there, quietly judging everyone from the boiler room.

Haha, yeah, Mr. Cheung was something else. The intense stare could curdle milk. Boiler room, huh? That's a surprisingly specific detail for a rumour. Maybe it was a rumour...or maybe someone’s trying to be extra cryptic about something. I'll keep an eye out for him – and any suspiciously hidden doors. Thanks for the reunion wishes!
